During each gas boiler service in Basingstoke we carry out important checks to be sure that your boiler works safely. We check the position of the boiler, the condition and operation of the boiler flue and we check that there is sufficient air for combustion and cooling.
We partially strip the boiler during the service and check and clean the heat exchanger, combustion chamber, burners and injectors unless the manufacturer's specifications dictate otherwise. When we re-assemble the boiler after the boiler service we check the combustion casing seals.
On most gas boilers we measure the main burner pressure though this is often not applicable to the newest high efficiency boilers. We may also check inlet pressure or gas rates. When possible we carry out combustion analysis with the boiler service and if you’re interested in the combustion figures we’ll be happy to explain them to you.
Lovekin carry out gas boiler servicing on all major makes of domestic gas boiler. What is required during the boiler service varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Having the manufacturers' boiler Installation and Servicing instructions to hand is helpful as they contain specific boiler service data and settings which we may use when we carry out boiler combustion analysis.
The Benchmark Boiler Service Record scheme has been running for many years now and all domestic gas boilers fitted in the last ten or more years came with a Benchmark Boiler Service Record card. On newer gas boilers this is incorporated into the boiler Installation and Servicing Instructions, usually at the back. If you can find your Boiler Service Record card we'll complete and sign it when we complete your boiler service.
For gas boilers which are still under guarantee it's important to keep the boiler service record up to date. The manufacturers require the boiler to be serviced annually and the Boiler Service Record to be completed for the guarantee to be valid, so it's always worth searching out the Boiler Service Record card (or the boiler Installation and Servicing Instructions) if you can find them.

Oxygen levels are checked but the most significant figures on the boiler service combustion analysis are the carbon monoxide figure (CO) and the carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide ratio (CO/CO2).
On this combustion analysis printout the ratio between carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide is very low (0.0002) showing that the gas boiler is burning very cleanly.
